Ajay Beri Says You Probably Shouldn’t Put These Things in Your Smoothie

As Ajay Beri is a Territory Developer who works with Jamba Juice, he knows a thing or two about smoothies. If you haven’t had a Jamba Juice smoothie before, you are certainly in for a treat if you can try one in your area. Jamba Juice smoothies are made with all-natural ingredients (mainly fruits and vegetables), and they can help you get the vitamins and nutrients you need to live a healthy life.

However, you might be inclined to make your own smoothie to save time and money or if you don’t have a Jamba Juice near you. If you are making your own smoothies and have a high-powered blender, you are already on your way there. But smoothie novices sometimes find themselves in a predicament where they put some things in the blend that turn the smoothie south. Ajay Beri will discuss some of those problem ingredients below.

Ingredients that Are Not Best in the Ingredients

Chances are you spent good money on a high speed blender. If you have a cheap, old blender, Ajay Beri says that you might want to consider upgrading if you can afford it. You will definitely notice the difference. However, some ingredients will affect your blender no matter which one you want. For example, according to Prevention, ingredients, like whole dates and ginger, don’t blend well. Sweeten your smoothies with fruit, honey, or agave instead.

In addition, some ingredients simply don’t work well in smoothies. Bitter greens, like mustard greens and dandelion greens, will kill the taste of your smoothie unless you are the most adventurous of smoothie drinkers. If you put a bitter green in the blender, chances are you will just taste the bitter green. Celery might be good for a juicer, but celery will turn stringy and not taste good either. Canned fruit is a bad idea as well. Although canned fruit might sweeten the smoothie, it is often covered in syrup, which is terrible for you.

Instead, Ajay Beri encourages you to use whole fruits and veggies, like strawberries, blueberries, and spinach. And if you can, try a smoothie from Jamba Juice for guaranteed deliciousness.
